Board of Directors

President 

Dale has been the President of the FFPD board of directors since 2024. Dale has served on the FFPD board since 2002. He retired as FFPD Firefighter in 2005 having served our community since 1977. Dale is a resident of Penrose.

Vice President

Dana has served on the FFPD Board since 2018. He retired as a firefighter after having served our community since 1977. Dana is a Florence native and resides in Florence.

Board Member

James is the treasurer of the FFPD Board of Directors since 2024. James has served on the FFPD Board since 2022. James has experience as a firefighter in his previous community. He is a resident of Penrose.

Board Member

Wendi has served as a FFPD Board Member since 2024. She brings with her experience and knowledge from her work in Oklahoma in the emergency management field. Wendi is the first woman to be elected to the Board. She is a resident of Penrose. 

Board Member

Joshua has been a FFPD Board member since 2024. Joshua has a wealth of experience and knowledge of the fire service. He is a Lieutenant for the Colorado Springs Fire Department. Josh is a resident of Florence.

The 2025 Board Elections took place on May 6, 2025.

Based on the preliminary results published by the District, Terry Williams, Dana Angel, and Josh Talbot are projected to secure 4-year terms while John Wysong is expected to win a 2-year term.

Since UOCAVA ballots can be accepted until May 14, the results are considered "preliminary" or "abstract" until they are certified on or before May 20.

Copies of the results have been posted on the front door of the Penrose and Florence fire stations, where they will remain for at least 48 hours following the election.

Board elections occur every two years (2025- most recent election). The positions are staggered so there’s not an entirely new board at one time.

To be considered for a Board position, the interested party must submit a letter of interest to the board. The window for submission depends on when the election occurs. You can learn more by attending Board meetings or contacting Station 1.
